DescriptionLooking glass: broken arch pediment terminating in floral volutes with rococo leafage trailing downward from volutes; scrolls and volutes gilded; scrolls carved on front surface with acanthus and other leafage; large, central gilt cartouche with shell at base, circular medallion in center and leafage on sides and top; base of pediment consists of horizontal, gilt molded strip with carved leafage along lower edge; narrow, gilt, rectangular inner frame surrounding original glass; narrow gilt outer frame with squared corners at top, straight on sides and curved and scrolled at base; frame gilded and carved with narrow band of leafage; plain, veneered surfaces between two frames and between outer frame and pediment at top; band of carved, gilt leafage trailing down either side of frame.

Woods: Primary: Walnut veneer, gilt and gesso on deal; secondary: deal backboard.
