DescriptionMug: tankard or mug of cylindrical shape with slightly spreading foot; ear-shaped handle applied to one side; decorated on the exterior in underglaze blue with a band of diaper at the mouth interrupted by four sets of reserves each composed of three triangles: two with half-flower blossoms on a blue ground and one with a circle on a lined ground. A band at the foot composed of 11 scalloped reserves alternating between a diaper pattern and a flower blossom on a blue ground. In between the bands, the body is painted with a gnarled prunus tree, rocks, and flowering peony blossoms. The ribbed handle painted with stylized flowers. With Robert Hunter (Yorktown, Virginia) until December 2025 when he sold it to the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation (Williamsburg, Virginia) where it remains to the present.ca. 1700
