DescriptionFound in a leather document box (1975-156). The broken bone finial of an umbrella. The bone has been turned and carved into shape. There was probably once a fine brass bail at the end which is now missing. Pieces of the wood that it was attached to are still located in the bottom.Label TextUmbrellas often were made with various materials. Brass, iron pins, baleen ribs, and bone or ivory finials.
