DescriptionSmall rectangular chest, dovetailed at corners with decorative tails on front face; lid with thumbnail molded front and side edges hinged to back with wrought iron hinges (replaced); lock mortised into inside of front, thin board added along top 4” of front to create depth needed for replaced lock; lock tongue attached to underside of top; oval brass escutcheon centered on front; overhanging ogee base molding (replaced) attached to front and sides of chest at bottom; straight, tapered (French) feet (replaced) attached to underside of chest.ProvenanceInherited by Joan Tucker Fowle from her aunt, Catharine Fitch Tucker (Feb. 28, 1879-Aug. 22, 1970), The Arches, Paget, Bermuda.
