DescriptionThis cornice section from the dining room consists of a fascia with a bead at the bottom. It is topped by crown molding featuring a cavetto at the bottom, applied (possible adhesive evidence) key pattern in the middle, and ogee at the top. There is a wrought nail visible on the obverse, and two wrought nails on the reverse. There are two paint reveal windows that were used for analysis during the 1929 restoration of the building.Label TextThis circa 1753 section of cornice from the dining room of the Seymour-Powell Tenement provides information on construction and finishes.
