DescriptionRasp with a tapering burred blade, rounded on top and flat on the bottom, with toothed edges. Narrow rectangular shank terminates in a loop.Label TextWith hundreds of tiny burrs, the rasp would be used to abrade away any sharp edges left by edged tools, when a piece of wood, like a handle, needed to be rounded. This early example has a convenient hanging ring at its end.Mark(s)Base of the blade is partially struck with a Crown over "PH".ProvenanceFrom the collection of Emil and Martyl Pollak.
