DescriptionPlane of coffin shape with a top discharge. The top and side edges have rounded chamfers that terminate with gouge cuts while the top check edges of the throat have tapering eye chamfers. Fitted with a serrated sharpened iron set at a steep pitch and a wedge with mitered corners.Label TextNamed for its serrated “iron” (blade) set at a high angle, toothing planes were often used to score the surfaces of a board in preparation for gluing.
