DescriptionCard table; rectangular top hinged at back and with projecting stepped and rounded front corners; straight skirt at front and at each side with broad concave element at front and at each side; drawer with broad concave element extends across front of card table; interior of drawer consists of one large compartment at back with five compartments across front with dividers of a slight curve at top; escutcheon at center of drawer and original lock, one original handle with pierced brass backplate at each side; four straight legs circular in section with decided taper from top to one third way down, then gradual taper to the pad feet on a disc; front legs have lambrequin with pendant flower carved at tops; left rear leg pivots to support top in open position.Woods: Mahogany with black walnut drawer linings (by microanalysis), and red pine drawer runners and medial brace (by microanalysis)Mark(s)None found.ProvenanceCaroline Anne Edgerton Smith to Eliza Smith to Eliza Wellington Roberts to Mrs. Mae S.
