DescriptionChild's cap of white silk brocaded with curving stems, leaves, and flowers in green and shades of rose, brown, and blue, with a white sub-pattern ground of diamonds and leaves. The cap has a rounded point over the forehead and rounded ears, with all the edges bound with pink silk ribbon, which is also formed into a bow tacked to center-back. Silver metallic lace extends over the crown in two rows from front to back. The cap is lined with two different patterns of rare early block-printed cottons in small-scale floral and vine designs. One is printed in dark purple and red and the second in two shades of purple.
