DescriptionLong rectangular shawl of cream-colored fine wool, with repeated paisley shapes at each end and lengthwise narrow borders with abstract repeated figures with red predominating. Unlined.Label TextFine cashmere or wool shawls from India and Paisley, Scotland, were especially fashionable accessories in the nineteenth century. This example is made of extremely fine, almost-sheer wool, woven and decorated in India for the export market.
