DescriptionMolded, soft-paste porcelain bust of a man identified as William Augustus, Duke of Cumberland. His head tilts slightly to the right. He wears a wig tied at the nape of his neck with a bow. He wears a breast plate with a ruffled collar and a Ribbon of the Order. No color has been applied and the bust has been attached to a wooden stand.

Label TextMost familiar of the three royal busts attributed to Chelsea, this model appears also in salt-glazed stoneware. Sir Everard Fawkener, secretary to the duke of Cumberland when the bust was made, was at the same time associated with the Chelsea factory.
