DescriptionTankard: Thrown straight-sided mug with applied extruded handle; yellow ground all over; opposite the handle is a hand-colored black transfer printed scene of a group of potters wearing aprons and playing boules or skittles in front of a tavern or inn called the “Jolly Potter;” additional buildings including a steepled church and smoking kilns can be seen in the distance; the transfer print is hand-painted with enamel colors; each side of the mug is painted with a single spray of leafy flowers.
