DescriptionBreeches of heavy brown silk knitted in stockinette stitch. Breeches are knee length with fall front that is buttoned with plain metal buttons; buttons for suspenders sewn to front and back. Knees end with buckle straps, now furnished with brown silk ribbon ties; three brown silk-covered buttons at each knee opening. Breeches unlined except for tabby cotton waistband lining and pockets; tabby linen fall and knee band lining. Pockets include one welted "watch" pocket on right front waistband and a second similar pocket reached through the top seam of the waistband; no side pockets. Waistband back has 4 eyelets for adjusting size, with the gusset filled in with tabby cotton.
