DescriptionInkwell: cylindrical, slightly waisted body; flat shoulder rising to a small neck with slight lip; and sunken base. "B*Townshend/ 1777" painted in purple on base; 2 large and 2 small floral sprays in the Curtis style in green, pink, purple, red, and blue, on the body; and on the shoulder, 6 circular holes encircled by purple dots and a purple 6 point design filled with trellis and scale diapers.Inscription(s)"B * Townshend / 1777" painted on underside of baseProvenanceEx coll: Mrs. Russell Colman, Crown Point, Norwich, in collection in 1931: A.J.B.
