DescriptionThrown, baluster-shaped, soft-paste porcelain jug with projecting lip and flat, extruded, loop handle. The decoration is hand-painted in underglaze cobalt blue and overglaze red. Gilding was used to contour and highlight aspects of the decoration, which consists of a landscape scene with houses, bridge, fisherman, and small boat. The style resembles Imari. There is a border at the foot and rim painted in red. The lip is decorated with a flower painted in red. The handle is highlighted with red decoration.
