DescriptionThis print depicts the north view of Tower-Hill, in 1746. Tower-Hill is an elevated spot northwest of the Tower of London. During the 18th century, it was under direct administrative control of the Tower. It was the site of a vast number of executions of high-profile criminals like William Boyd, 4th Earl of Kilmarnock, privy counselor to Charles Edward Sutart, and who fought in the Battle of Culloden, and the 6th Lord Balmerino.ProvenanceBefore 2011, Betty C.
