DescriptionRound hat box with stenciled painted decoration: top motifs include a green and white eagle, a yellow vase ornamented with a green shield shaped reserve holding leaves and grapes (?), and green leaves. Sides ornamented with green leaves and flowers; edge of top ornamented with yellow geometric motifs. Overlapping ends of side fastened with nails, as are overlapping ends of top rim. Bottom and top fastened to sides and top rim respectively with nails.ProvenanceDonor purchased from John C. Newcomer in 1986.
