DescriptionChinese export porcelain sauceboat with raised, molded panels and a gadrooned edge and foot, decorated with polychrome floral sprays in opaque enamels. Molded leaf decoration on the spout. There is some gilding on the flowers which has worn away.

Gilding to flowers and rim lost. A 1/4" chip to spout and some wear to rim. 3/16" chip to handle.
Label TextSauce, prepared in many varieties and often with a butter base, was the primary flavoring of many eighteenth century dishes.
