DescriptionHolster-shaped violin case of leather-covered wood, with red baize (wool) lining, iron and brass lock mechanism, marbled paper lining on case edges and rosin holder. Leather is attached to wood with brass nails. Top is hinged to bottom of case with iron hinges which are covered by the leather. The brass initials "G D" are attached to the upper body of the case with small nails. Nails have been substituted for tacks in several places where the tacks are missing.
