The exterior boarder is made up of the "Great Chain" of state which each state initial within the chain.Label TextWith the inauguration of the first president of the United States, commemorative objects were made to celebrate the occasion. Several patterns of buttons were produced, likely in England for the American market. These all tended to be large in size for men’s coats.
