Sc./ Thomas Penn Esq.r/ One of the First Proprietors of Pennsilvania. 1751."Label TextThomas Penn, 1701-1775, was the son of William Penn, founder of the colony of Pennsylvania. Upon his father's death, he inherited a share of Pennsylvania with his brothers John and Richard. During the years 1732-1741, he managed the proprietary affairs of the colony. Penn was Proprietor during the famous boundary dispute between Pennsylvania and Maryland in 1732 (seen on map, acc. #G1984-43).
