Narrow linen tape is sewn to center fronts about 2 3/4" down from neckline.Label TextScholars disagree on the dates of similar knitted cotton waistcoats, of which a number survive in museum collections. Some assign them to the seventeenth century; others feel they date no earlier than the first quarter of the eighteenth century.Mark(s)NoneProvenanceEx-collection: Cora Ginsburg.1700-1750
