DescriptionBible box; rectangular box with flat, rectangular lid, hinged at rear with two large, H-hinges (old but not original); molded strips on underside of top at either side; rectangular box, nailed at corners, the front carved with two lunettes, each containing carved foliage inside arch; large, wrought iron lockplate at center front, flanked by carved initials "M O" and above carved date "1684"; flat base nailed to sides; interior partially lined with old newspaper (newspaper probably of late 18th or early 19th century-no date visible).Mark(s)None foundProvenanceNot known.
