DescriptionThis is a T-shaped whole cloth quilt of green bordered with dark brown. The center portion is green twill-woven worsted with shiny glazed surface. The sides and foot are bordered with 11 1/2 to 12 1/2-inch wide bands of very dark brown twill-woven glazed worsted. The quilting pattern, worked in dark green worsted at 5 to 7 stitches per inch, consists of 11-inch diameter interlocking circles creating a secondary pattern of four petals. The backing is a cream white textile woven in plain weave with cotton warp and woolen weft. The batting, or filling, is white woolen. The quilt is bound with two different shades of dark green twill tape, except for the center portion of the top, which is finished with a knife edge and stitched.Label TextThe shiny surface of this quilt was created using heat and pressure after weaving. The textiles were folded and placed in a press, resulting in permanent creases at the fold lines.
