DescriptionOne of a set of four rectangular sterling silver entree dishes on old fused silverplate stands. There are four parts to each entree dish: A) entree dish & B) cover with removable finial, all of sterling silver; and two parts to each stand: C) stand & D) pan, both of fused silverplate. Each stand has four foliate scrolled feet and two reeded handles with foliate junctures. The removable pans are plain. Each entree dish has a gadroon border. Each cover has a gadrooned border and rectangular band of gadrooning on top, as well as a removable foliate ring handle with a rectangular, gadroon-bordered edge.Inscription(s)Cover of entree dish engraved with unidentified coat of arms and entree dish engraved with unidentified armorial crest. Later ccript monogram "AFG" and number (1 to 4) engraved on bottom of entree dish.Mark(s)Entree dish and cover both marked in relief on end: 1) sponsor's mark of "PS" for Paul Storr [Grimwade 1990 # 2235]; 2) lion passant; 3) leopard's head crowned; 4) date letter "f" for 1821-22; and 5) duty mark Removable ring handle of lid marked in relief on upper side of base: 1) sponsor's mark of "PS" for Paul Storr [Grimwade 1990 # 2235]; 2) lion passant; and 3) duty mark Fused silverplate stand marked on bottom in relief with the crossed arrows mark, possibly for Thomas & James Creswick & Co.
