DescriptionCircular pewter plate, concave rim with cast single bead at edge and incised circular line inside bead; turned molding on underside at edge; short concave booge to well in center, with incised circular line surrounding well.Label TextThe Love touch, found on a considerable quantity of southeastern Pennsylvania pewter, was attributed during the most part of the last century to Abraham Hasselberg (active 1750-1779) and to his son-in-law, John Andrew Brunstrom (active 1781-1793). It is now believed that a larger number of pewterers from the Philadelphia area used this touch mark over a longer period of time from about 1760 to 1820.Inscription(s)NoMark(s)Touch mark two birds facing one another under a crown with "LO" to the left and "VE" to the right within a beaded circle on underside of well (Laughlin 868).
