DescriptionRectangular stool with carved mahogany hairy paw feet; upholstered in red velvet with brass nails and fringe. For use with Governor's ceremonial armchair 1930-215.Label TextThis foot stool was fabricated in 1985 to replace a missing stool that would have accompanied the Governor’s ceremonial armchair (CWF accession 1930-215). No information about the missing stool exists, but following period prototypes of 18th century British ceremonial chairs and footstools, the stool was made to match the carved hairy paw feet and reproduction red velvet upholstery with brass nails and fringe found on the chair.
