DescriptionWoman's stays of white cotton twill, styled with partial lacing running eight inches down center front and full lacing down center back. Tabs over hips and shoulder straps extending from front with eyelets for tying to back. Eyelets are finished in white silk thread. Front has four images of vine and leaves running vertically within the channels. Outlined images embroidered in running stitch in white thread. Boned with cane. Stays have remnants of thread bridges on back side at the bustline and at center front point, possibly to hold a busk. Construction History:
1. 1775-1800: Initially Constructed; No additions are alterations after the initial construction date noted.
