Schumacher & Co. has been furnishing textiles and wallpaper for historic interiors- like the Breakers and the White House- since their founding in 1889. They have also been a longtime collaborator of Colonial Williamsburg, reproducing 18th century textile designs for the restoration as well as for public sale. The design on this example likely dates to the 1780s- but this fragment is a 20th century reproduction printed on linen.ProvenancePrior to 1978, F.
