Predominant color is blue; bushes and trees sponged in pale green and facades of buildings and vanes in light mixed green. Blue-dash rim with inner blue band.Label TextThe apparently unique subject matter of the image on this delft dish suggests the possibility of Dutch manufacture, but delft scholars Lipski and Archer note similarities between this example and two groups of chargers depicting William III (see CWF accession 1971-125) and Queen Anne, which have distinct English characteristics.Inscription(s)The date "1704" painted on the windmill.Mark(s)NoneProvenanceGuitel Montague, New York
