DescriptionSilver thimble with a band of circular idendations at the top and a decorative band at the bottom. The decorative band features ovals framed by scrollwork and flowers. Maker's mark inside the top.Label TextThe distinctive 'S' maker's mark on the inside of this thimble identifies it as a product of the Simons Brothers Company. Founded in Philadelphia in 1839 by George W. Simons, the company has sold silver thimbles, jewelry, cane heads, umbrellas, and more.
