DescriptionWoodblock print textile document has undulating stripe with serrated edge entwined with lacy ribbon that has zigzag and floral edge; small bunches of flowers spring alternately from the left and right of the combined stripe. Flanking this are stripes that simulate tape or binding around which floral and leaf scalloped lace chains entwine. Printed in red, brown, blue, and yellow.Label TextDesigns blending florals, stripes, and undulating curves were popular on both woven silks and printed cottons in the late 18th century. This cotton fragment was printed using a woodblock.
