DescriptionJug: baluster shaped with projecting lip spout, loop handle with tab at lower terminal, and culindrical foot ring; underglaze blue decoration of chinoiserie decoration of a chrysanthemum, rock-work, and a fence on the exterior and a band of trellis diaper on the interior rim.ProvenanceMrs. Danenhower purchased this piece at Stuart and Turner Ltd. London in 1957. In her collection until 1968 when she gave it to the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation (Williamsburg, VA) where it remains to the present.
