DescriptionThis instrument has a donut-shaped body with faceted cut-outs at regular intervals along the perimeter edge of the top and bottom and a wooden disk representing the sun mounted at the center on two pieces of wire. Four circular elements mounted at the "corners" of the body each have a partial disk mounted in the center on two wires to represent phases of the moon. This has a scrolled headstock, conventional violin neck, and tailpiece.ProvenancePurchased by CW from J. Roderick Moore (Ferrum, VA) in 1993. Prior history unknown.1925-1940
