DescriptionWoman's shoe, one of a pair, constructed of yellow and purple leather. Purple leather used for the quarters and yellow leather for the vamp, heel and edge binding. Shoe has very pointed toe and very small squared tongue, over which shoe is tied with two eyelets and purple silk cord. Very low, squat and slightly wedged heel, 1 1/8" high. Shoe made as a straight, with small punch marks centered on sole. Linings of white kid and tabby linen. Note: Matching shoe #1 has oval paper label pasted to insole reading "MARTIN / and / M'MILLAN / Ladies Shoe Warehouse / No. 111, Jermain-st / St. James's / From Mr. Bogg's / (Late Messrs. Hogg/ and Brown's.)"
