DescriptionDouble-lipped sauceboat of octagonal outline with bold wavy border with a molded wire conforming to the outline, resting on an octagonal collet foot. Body engraved with a contempory crest; each applied with a pair of double-scroll handles springing from a trefoilLabel TextSauceboats first appear in English silver in the 1720s.
