DescriptionDome-top (or break-arch) bracket clock with brass carrying handle on center of top; round white painted dial with Roman hour numeral and Arabic minute numerals, two winding holes, and hour and minute hands; dial inscribed "LESLIE & PRICE" above the hands and "PHILADELPHIA" below the hands; dial surrounded by brass molding; triangular corners of clock below round dial inset with cast brass spandrels; vertical rectangular panels on sides of clock inset with metal lattice; vertical brass rods nailed to front corners of clock; base molding over broad veneered base on brass ogee bracket feet.Mark(s)Face inscribed "LESLIE & PRICE" above the hands and "PHILADELPHIA" below the hands.ProvenanceTraditiona of ownership by Col Nathaniel Burwell of Carter's Grove, James City County, and Carter Hall, Clarke County, Virginia.1790-1800
