DescriptionSaucer of circular form with short footring; the face painted in red, brown, green, and yellow with a stylized house and fence amidst trees and clouds all within a red scolloped border abutting a red band at the edge; the underside with an elongated u-shaped painter's mark in brown.Mark(s)The underside painted with an elongated U-shaped painter's mark in brown.ProvenancePrior to 1970, the cup and saucer were in the collection of Mrs. Eugenia Cary Stoller [New York, NY]; December 4, 1970 it was purchased by David Seligmann at the Parke-Bernet auction [New York, NY]; from December 1970 until 1975, it was with David Seligmann [London, England]; April 23, 1975, David Seligmann sold the cup and saucer to the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation [Williamsburg, VA].
