Photographer unidentified.Label TextThis photographic image was acquired in 1957 along with three oil paintings by Steve Harley (1863-1947) and an important cache of documentary materials and other photographs related to the artist's life. Presumably the people shown in the photograph were members of Harley's family, but most of their exact identities have been lost. Harley genealogist/descendant Dianne Wintch believes the standing figures represent Steve's parents, Anne (1845-1919) and William Harley (1843-1900). The building does not match the configuration of the barn shown in 2003.102.1; it seems to have been some other outbuilding on the property.ProvenanceSteve Harley (1863-1947); to Robert Lowry (1919-1994); to an unidentified dealer; to M.
