DescriptionNutcracker. Two blades and hinge made of iron banded in silver.Label TextSilver nutcrackers, probably owing to the softness of the metal, are extremely rare. This pair has silver handles only; the blades and hinge are of steel. The blades are burred on either side and are set off-center on the hinge, so that by reversing them the space between can be changed to accommodate a large or a small nut.Inscription(s)NoneMark(s)NoneProvenanceVendor: Thomas Lumley Ltd., Londonca. 1752
