Label TextThe turned legs and arm supports and solid vase-shaped splats demonstrate a melding of the early and late baroque styles in one piece of furniture. Cabinet- and chairmakers did not abruptly halt production of one furniture fashion when another became popular. In addition to making some pieces in the new style, they continued to produce older forms, updating them with aspects of the new taste. The vase-shaped splats on this corner chair provide an updated element of style.Mark(s)None found.
