DescriptionPitcher of baluster form with flat extruded handle applied in s-curve. Finely thrown with small lip on underside serving as glazed foot ring. Warm gray-beige body with black flecks and later enamels. The scenic decoration derived from the narrative of the "Sailor's Farewell" and the "Sailor's Return," with a large, three-masted sailing ship flying Union Jack between, and an upper border of green enamel diapering with floral cartouches. The first scene, "Farewell, with man in blue jacket and brown trousers embracing woman in navy and yellow dress on a rocky outcropping. Ship with three masts and square sails in green-ish sea. The last, older man in blue jacket over red waistcoat with brown breeches pouring gold coins into green apron of woman in yellow and magenta, in a garden setting.
