DescriptionPlate without a foot ring. Blue tin glaze decorated in blue with a stylized flowering plant bearing 3 blossoms; on the rim, a pattern of stylized leaves, those within arcs including double slash marks.Label TextThree other plates in the Colonial Williamsburg collection are decorated with the same pattern seen on this example. A pair with a bluish tin glaze are 9 inches in diameter (accessions 1978-223,1-2), and a single example decorated in blue, mixed green, and red is 81/8 inches in diameter (accession 1958-313). Fragments of plates with similar central and border designs have been excavated at the James Geddy Workshop and Kitchen (19BB.1167) and at Bassett Hall (IAA.0225) in Williamsburg. The central pattern has also been found at Temple Back in Bristol.

The Bristol attribution for this example is based on its shape.
