DescriptionJoint stool: rectangular top with rounded edge; on all sides straight skirt with ovolo molded bottom edge; each leg turned from top to bottom in a cylinder, a ring, a baluster shape, a ring, a cylinder, a series of 2 rings, a section square in cross section where stretchers pinned to legs, and a flattened ball-shaped foot; one stretcher at each side with an incised line on the upper surface.ProvenanceEx coll: L.G. Myers (purchase 1929 from Myers private collection, not through Myers as agent). Colonial Williamsburg statements at the time of purchase indicate that Myers considered the joint stool to be of Maryland origin.
