The mezzotint was published the year of his death. Hiscox was the pastor of the Seventh Day Baptist Congregation in Westerly, Rhode Island.The original portrait is in the collection of the Redwood Library and Athenaeum in Newport, Rhode Island.ProvenanceBefore 1961, Sara H. Andrews (Ashaway, RI), purchased by the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation (Williamsburg, VA).
