DescriptionSalt Cellar: Circular plain cup with slightly molded lip. Short waisted stem with molding at center. Molded circular foot.Label TextSalts of this form, with a broad hemispherical bowl supported on a pedestal foot, are referred to as cup salts. Made in considerable numbers in pewter, they usually are unmarked and date from the second half of the eighteenth century and into the first decades of the nineteenth century.
