DescriptionCoffee cup:, restrained bell-shaped body with slight flare at rim; waisted turned footring. Ear-shaped flattened handle applied vertically to one side, the lower terminal an upward curl. Enamelled in green, pink, blue, yellow and red with black detailing. The exterior painted with a large vibrant reddish-pink petalled flower with a dripping yellow center and blue and yellow bud above against a chinoiserie red fence with green foliage along its base and in front of a green tree. The interior of the rim with a scalloped black line within a band of dark green enamel.ProvenanceIn 1956, with D. M. & P. Manheim (London and New York) who sold it to the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation (Williamsburg, VA) where it remains to the present.
