DescriptionTeapot of pentagonal-house profile. The base rectangular and the sides rising vertically. The sides, at the corners, continuing downward to form the feet. The top flat with rabbet for the cover. The cover rectangular, with recumbent lion-form finial. The spout S-shaped with molded shells at the base and the opening shaped as an open mouth. The domed-profile handle C-shaped, oriented in plane with the sloping side. The handle with a small flat protrusion at the apex to form a place for the thumb to rest. The underside of the pot glazed, though the bottoms of the feet are not.
