DescriptionDish: oblong oval dish with broad flat rim and flat base wiped of glaze. The center of the well painted with the arms of Chadwick quarterly of six within a shield suspended from a purple bow with a gold (on red) bellflower swag and crossed laurel branches below the shield. The arms of Chadwick quarterly of six: gules an inescutcheon within an orle of martlets argent; quartering Malvesyn, gules three bends argent; Carden, sable a sling between two pheons argent; Bagot, argent a chevron gules between three martlets azure, a crescent for difference; and Heton, argent on a saltire azure, five water bougets or within a bordure gules; Chadwick, repeated (Howard, Chinese Armorial Porcelain, W1, p. 741). The rim painted with an overglaze blue band, concentric gold line, scalloped gold line, and an inward pointing blue spearhead and dot border; the cavetto painted with a husk and dot chain.
