DescriptionCoffeepot of tall pyriform body with applied molded rim and supported on molded circular foot with gadrooned band; swan spout with leaves at tip and attachment to body; reverse-scrolled pearwood handle in silver sockets, the upper one with leaf attachment, the lower scrolled with bud terminal. Hinged lid with gadrooned rim and swirled cone finial. GEC engraved on underbody.Label TextA coffeepot of 1765/66 by Thomas Whipham and Charles Wright of London with the engraved crest of the Byrd family of Westover, Charles City County, is in the Virginia Historical Society, Richmond. It is of this conventional elongated pear form with similar spout, handle sockets, and gadrooned base.
